Dr. David N. P. Mburu is a full time Lecturer in the Department of African and African American Studies. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. In 2012-2013 Dr. Mburu was a member of the Center for African Peace and Conflict Resolutions (CAPCR) in California State University, Sacramento. His main areas of research interests includes Kiswahili, popular culture in East Africa, gender issues in education, gender and education in Africa, curriculum and instructions and comparative education. He brings a wide experience in teaching of languages and education management from Kenya where he taught for many years. Equally, he was a curriculum expert in various levels in the education sector. Among his presentations is a paper coauthored with Dr. Ann Ndiritu in April 2013 on “Training ECD In-service Teachers in Ict skills: First foot forward” that was presented in the University of Nairobi School of Distance and Continuing Education Conference. He is currently teaching Kiswahili Elementary, Intermediate, Reading, Advanced and Popular Culture in East Africa.
