(MFA, Rhode Island School of Design) Professor Bitters uses paper to make sculptures and installations that reside on the border of two and three-dimensional space. Drawing forms from geology he often utilizes illusionary means to present weight and weightlessness, depth and flatness. Receiving his formal training as a printmaker Shawn uses a large range of media to accomplish his investigation of the perception of present and past locations.
