Chad Kraus is a KU Assistant Professor of Architecture with a research interest in earthen architecture. He has led KU third-year architecture design/build classes through the production of three rammed-earth structures at the KU Field Station: The Roth Trailhead, the gateway to the Field Station’s Core Research and Operations Area; and the Armitage Pavilion. His classes’ award-winning structures at the Field Station are inspired by the prairie soil and grasses.
