Dr. Mack teaches courses on Women in Islam, Islamic literature, and Muslim Women's Autobiography. Her fieldwork in Nigeria and Morocco has focused on contemporary Muslim women's scholarship. She has published two volumes on contemporary Muslim women, and two on a nineteenth century Muslim woman Sufi scholar. Her current research on Muslim women scholars has been supported by a Carnegie Corporation Fellowship.
